This is the 7th year of our Photo Awards of Excellence, marking the best recent photographs of Canadian buildings. The Photo Awards competition is held in conjunction with the Canadian Architect Awards of Excellence, which for 57 years have recognized design excellence in future projects. This year?s deadline for submissions to both programs is Thursday, September 12, 2024.
Professional and non-professional architectural photographers are invited to submit their work for the Canadian Architect Photo Award of Excellence. The submitted photo should be no more than two years old. It should depict a building (or set of buildings) in Canada, by any architect and from any time period. Alternatively, it may depict a building outside of Canada but completed by a Canadian architect. An optional descriptive text may be included, up to 100 words in length. Awards are given for the excellence of a photo in conveying the particular character and qualities of an architectural work. Jurors will consider the composition, creativity of approach, and overall aesthetics of the photo.
This year, we are introducing a Student category to the Photo Awards of Excellence. Student entries to this category are free, but students must be nominated by their photo instructor. We encourage photo instructors to e-mail us at [email protected] for information about nominating a student.
