Sumi coat stands by Nichetto Studio for Schönbuch
Dezeen Showroom: German brand Schönbuch has launched Sumi, a range of modular coat stands with hooks that Nichetto Studio has designed to resemble tree branches.
Sumi is a versatile storage solution suited to homes and public spaces such as waiting rooms, restaurants and hotels.
Its modular components can be combined to create free-standing or wall-mounted coat stands or to create more statement units that run from floor to ceiling.

"I wanted to create something for an entrance area that can be adapted to suit different architectural situations," explained Luca Nichetto, founder of Nichetto Studio.
"This gave rise to the idea of a modular system that can be configured and used flexibly. The inspiration for Sumi came from nature." They are designed by Nichetto Studio to evoke trees
Sumi's modular components are designed to evoke tree branches and are made from metal with a finely textured, black powder coating.
According to Nichetto, the modules can be combined to form screens that mimic trees in a forest, "bringing the outdoors in and integrating it functionally into the space".
The stands can be combined with shelves and mirrors
Sumi coat stands can be fitted with accessories including mirrors and shelving, which are designed to easily attach to the coat hooks.
