Sunny seating by Note Design Studio x Gunilla Allard for Lammhults
Dezeen Showroom: Note Design Studio and Gunilla Allard took inspiration from the modernist yet eclectic Eames House in California to create their Sunny seating for Swedish brand Lammhults.
An easy chair that's also available as a modular two-seater, Sunny has a powder-coated or chromed steel frame, draped with a plush cushion.
Allard and Note Design Studio looked to the scale and architectural style of the Eames House ? completed in 1949 by Charles and Ray Eames ? as well as the characterful interior details, as a reference for their design.
Lammhults' Sunny easy chair can be ordered with armrests and casters
The result is an easy chair intended to create a relaxing and inviting mood in social spaces such as hotel lobbies and workplace meeting spots. "The task was to make soft lounge seating ? a little lower, a little softer, a
little more relaxed, a little cooler, a little dreamier and a cross-border between public and private," said the designers.
Sunny comes as either a freestanding easy chair, with optional armrests and casters, or a modular two-seater linked via a U-shaped foot.
The modular version can be joined with either a table or a U-shaped foot
The modular version can also be joined with either a straight or wedge-shaped connecting table, allowing the chairs to curve towards or away from each other.
