The Biosphère Introduces a New Permanent Exhibition
This summer the Biosphère presents MTL+, a new permanent exhibition that showcases 14 architectural firms who looked forward to 2067, and reinvented Montréal?s prominent infrastructure.
MTL+?s exhibition aims to find inspiration in the past and the present to imagine the infrastructure of the future.

The 14 architectural teams worked with biologists, sociologists and philosophers, who then validated their visions and worked to turn them into possibilities.
According to the Biosphère, social and environmental impact is greater when existing infrastructure is torn down to build new ones.
The MTL+ team suggests that innovation in infrastructure, planning, construction and project management is essential to adapt to climate change. ?The way in which we occupy the space around us and how we relate to the environment is at the heart of the architects? visions of the Montréal of tomorrow. By its very nature, architecture disrupts the environment; yet it also allows us to better coexist with a fragile planet,? said the Biosphère.
MTL+ visitors have the opportunity to explore major urban infrastructure as an integral part of existing communities.
The exhibition?s designs feature utopian and realistic projects ? architects were not subject to any technical or monetary constraints.
