As the COVID-19 crisis has spurred new initiatives to make cities more pedestrian and bike-friendly, the Netherlands continues to lead by example. In The Hague, the world’s second-largest bicycle parking garage has been opened, featuring an all-encompassing back-lit mural of Escher-like tesselations that honor the city’s eclectic architecture.

The fabric of the city One of the largest bicycle parking garages in the Netherlands has been built underneath the Koningin Julianaplein in The Hague, right in front of the Central Station. Silo developed a powerful spatial concept that transforms parking your bike into a museum-like experience. The unconventional result enhances comfort and safety for the thousands of daily users.
