The Nook Residence by MU Architecture
The Canadian wild land hides multiple gems and The Nook Residence by MU Architecture is one that stands out through simplicity and beauty. Positioned in a quiet zone of the Eastern Townships in Quebec, the home has placed itself towards the vast wonderful landscape, offering the street a blind facade that intrigues and offers protection at the same time. The shape started from a rectangular prism and shifted its stories to face certain zones of the landscape. The architects have taken advantage of the slopy terrain and oriented the house towards the Lake Memphremagog.
The facade has been kept all white, clean, elegant, matching the wintry scenery like a glove.
The interior design maintains the same minimal approach, here in warmer shades of wood balanced by a granite floor.
The bold black kitchen design was been created to stand out and take its tole on the open plan first floor.
The modern edgy black kitchen design uses small honeycomb tiles as the black-splash in a darker shade than the cabinet fronts for creating depth to the open shelving.
The expansive views can be admired from the sunken sitting zone where a modern fireplace resides to provide warmth and comfort.
The wooden staircase has received a metallic net protection that offers a limit allowing the light to flow through.
