The Rosenberry Residence by Arch-Fabg
The Rosenberry Residence has been created by the architects at Arch-Fabg as a family retreat in Sutton in the Eastern Townships region of Canada. The home is surrounded by a small forest, offering privacy as well as beautiful natural landscape for the expansive views inserted into the construction’s concept.
A podium has been constructed to support the home, including the outside swimming pool and to serve as a deck. Black lacquered aluminum panels and white cedar accents have been chosen as exterior finishes on a hybrid structure made of wood, steel and concrete floors.The dark hues used on the exterior provide a wonderful powerful contrast with the surrounding landscape, no matter the season. From a functional point of view the main floor has been designed to nestle the kitchen, the dinning and living room and a master bedroom, whereas the seconf floor is occupied by another living area, guest rooms, a terrace and a bedroom with incredible views of Mount Sutton. The two floors can function separatedly and have, from the beginning, been designed to offer home to the parents on the first floor and to the younger generation above. The floors have been designed in such a manner as to not transmit much noise.
