The home takes advantage of the tropical, rain-forest environment, a beautiful green heaven in a truly spectacular site, one that very much inspired the designers. The tropical Planchonella House is located in Queensland, Australia where it surges inspiration from the landscape`s contours:
?As not to protrude out with the ridge, the profile is mirrored and cuts back. The wings created on each side of the edge float into the surrounding rain forest and become part of the tree canopy.?
Columns in black create a vertical continuity in the ensemble, these also ensure the structural integrity of the home, it sturdiness and openness.
The interior spaces have a great balance that summons a strong feeling of appurtenance, one of belonging, the architects are further describing the plan ?wraps around the courtyard space, which is considered the second hearth (after the kitchen) or perhaps lungs to the entire dwelling.
