Designed by Quebec’s YH2 Architecture, Les Jumelles are sister constructions linked together to create a single family home oriented towards the Baie-des-Chaleurs in the historical Acadian Village of Caraquet.

Serving as peaceful nature retreats, the twin structures are inspired by Acadian vernacular architecture. They are identically covered by metal sheets and located in one of the last natural clearings of the village.

The sister houses stand parallel to each other and are only connected by a glazed passage that acts as a working space, offering panoramic views of the sea. Its length offers just the right amount of privacy between the twin sisters, while also serving as a sunbathed courtyard to protect inhabitants from the often violent winds of the area.
