University of Toronto seeks Landscape Architecture and Visual Studies professors
The John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design, University of Toronto, invites applications for four full-time tenure-stream appointments:
Assistant Professor – Landscape Architecture
Associate Professor – Landscape Architecture
Assistant Professor ? Visual Studies
Associate Professor ? Visual Studies
These appointments will be effective July 1, 2016.
For the Landscape Architecture positions, candidates should have training in Landscape Architecture, or some combination of Architecture, Urban Design, and Environmental Planning and must be engaged in creative practice and scholarship of an international caliber with demonstrated excellence in both teaching and design-based research. A Master?s degree in a related discipline is required, and a PhD is desirable. Candidates will have the capacity to engage the scales and levels of complexity at the intersections between landscapes, cities, infrastructure, and the natural environment. Candidates must also have an established record of internationally-recognized scholarship, with sustained evidence of publications in leading journals in the field, presentations at significant conferences and accolades for creative work. For the Visual Studies positions, candidates should be artists or scholars with a strong record of exhibition, including international exposure (residencies, exhibitions, publications or commissions) and demonstrated excellence in teaching and research in range of contemporary s...
