Winners of the 2021 Architecture Prize for Quebec Libraries and Archives announced
The winners of the 2021 Architecture Prize for Quebec Libraries and Archives were recently announced during a virtual framework of the Congress of Information Professionals (CPI).
The winners of Architecture awards include:
Gatineau ? Donalda-Charron Library
Atelier TAG | NEUF architect(e)s in consortium
Built in the urban village of Plateau, a district of Gatineau, the Donalda-Charron Library features a public square, local shops, a park, a literary trail, and a guest outdoor terrace which includes the work of Quebec artist Michel de Broin. The jury was won over by the concept of biophilia which guided the architects in this harmonious complicity between natural light and vegetation. The jury also emphasized that this project meets the ten specific analysis criteria, in particular those of aesthetics, innovation, energy and environmental performance by aiming for LEED silver certification.

Brossard – Brossard Georgette-Lepage Library
J. Dagenais Architect + Partners

The redevelopment of the youth area of ??the Brossard library caught the interest of the jury for its cultural approach. The project offers preschool and school audiences technological elements including interactive ground games, talking robots, tactile screens, iPads, and a knowledge platform conducive to schoolwork.
