World Design Summit launches second Call for Proposals for Congress presentations
Following the unveiling of the 108 Congress discussion topics, The World Design Summit Organization (WDSO) has launched the second Call for Proposals for Congress presentations. This second Call for Proposals builds on the successful first call that generated some 350 submissions from over 40 countries.
Designers, educators, students, influencers and agents of change from six disciplines of design are invited to submit their Proposals for Presentations, to be reviewed by the Scientific and Professional Committee of the World Design Summit ? Montréal 2017. Under the overarching theme ?Changing the World through Design,? the Committee has developed six sub-themes and 108 topics that will frame the presentations and discussions to take place over the duration of the Congress from October 16 to 20, 2017. The topics were selected with the objective of upholding the highest criteria of quality, excellence and critical thinking, in order to build a program worthy of the Summit’s ambition. The 108 topics ask pressing questions that demand cutting-edge, sustainable, socially-advanced and paradigm-shifting solutions to the global challenges that will define this Century.
The six sub-themes read as follows: Design for Participation; Design for Earth; Design for Beauty; Design for Sale"; Design for Transformation; Design for extremes. Multiple proposal formats are accepted, including research papers, case studies, workshops and panel discussions.
