Mixed Use Project
This is a mixed use project presented as a third year project in the University Of Jordan and it was presented for a Jordanian company in Amman as well, the conception of this project did not stem from a highly theoretical and abstract notion: it was rather derived from the nature of the project itself.

Mixed-use development can be defined as a building, or set of buildings, or neighborhood that house a multi varied combination of residential, commercial, industrial, office, institutional, or other activities.
By that, mixed use developments activates urban areas during more hours of the day; Increase housing options for diverse household types; reduces auto dependence; increases travel options; and most importantly create a local sense of place. In that sense a mixed used building was seen as a machine that skillfully blends different functions and users together in an atmosphere of segregation and fusion together; a machine where space within simultaneously configures parallel but separate forms of life that are separately layered yet perceived as a whole unit. As such, the design of the project was seen as a dialectic proposition between two separate but interrelated concepts: singularity and stratification. by rasha alshami
