The avocado bathroom suite popular in the 1970s has been much derided over the years, but green bathrooms are back in a big way.
These eight examples show how elements such as green geometric tiles, olive paint or verdant wallpaper can create tranquil, elegant spaces that nod to the past.
This is the latest roundup in our Dezeen Lookbooks series that provide visual inspiration for designers and design enthusiasts. Previous lookbooks include marble bathrooms, interiors with slides at their centre and homes with exposed brickwork.
Small House with a Monumental Shower, Portugal, by Fala Atelier Porto architecture studio Fala Atelier added a chimney-style tower to a small granite home in Portugal that houses a bathroom and shower unit.
Pale green tiles clad the shower, which is lit by a skylight positioned at the top of the tower, and are offset by a petite sink nearby, which is finished in white marble.
