Om chair by Johan Ansander for Blå Station
Dezeen Showroom: Swedish designer Johan Ansander has designed a chair for furniture brand Blå Station that is lightweight and made entirely from timber.
The Om chair has a dynamically curved composition with a looping backrest that extends to include the chair's rear set of legs.
Om has a simple, rounded form
The Om chair is made from solid European oak or ash wood yet weighs just 4.5 kilograms. The ribbon-like pieces of wood and void through its backrest allows it to be visually as well as physically light.
"My aim was to offer a generous seating experience with very few components, and with the backrest as one visually open piece," said designer Johan Ansander.
It is available in natural or coloured finishes Om is available in a range of dyed colourways upon request with the option to add padded seats for increased comfort.
