Plans unveiled for ski slope atop BIG's Amager Bakke plant
Our latest Dezeen x MINI Living video reveals plans for a year-round ski slope that will sit atop Copenhagen's Amager Bakke Waste-To-Energy Plant.
The plant, masterplanned by Bjarke Ingels Group, is topped with a steeply-sloped roof that landscape architecture firm SLA Architects are transforming into a large park.
The space will feature hiking trails, climbing walls, viewpoints and a 600-metre-long ski slope.
While the huge wedge-shaped facility generates power by incinerating waste, the park atop its roof will provide a lush green space for visitors, who will be able to populate it with plants and trees using seed bombs.
The plant is already in operation, and the park is currently under construction and slated for completion in September 2018.
