A Secret Norwegian Hideaway Paradise
Mariana de Delas, a part of the architecture firm Gartnerfuglen, have built a hidden oasis behind a wall of branches at a remote lake in the Telemark region of the country.
The project is called Gjemmested, which means hideout in English, and it is accessible only by kayak or rowboat — or in the case of winter — by ice-skating.
“When not in use, the hideout sits quietly and modestly in nature as if it were one of its creatures; blending in with the forest behind and even serving as a pitstop for thirsty birds on their way to the lake,” said its creators. It was built as a disconnect from the world of technology and digital influences; somewhere its guests could use as a time to clear the mind and be in their own thoughts.
