Buildings are known to shape urban silhouettes, the skyline of New York City among others or that of Paris are most recognizable. They are also an ingenious and creative way of solving the problem of urban densification, and sometimes give rise to extraordinary architectural innovations, whether by their size, shape or the materials used. Tulips, mushrooms, translucent urban ships or self-sufficient ecosystems, here are some crazy projects that have caught our attention.
