Spectacular Pavilion Entirely Made of Bamboos
Installed for twenty days last July in Taiwan as part of the event ?Fun old town?, the Toroo Pavilion explores the possibilities offered by bamboo. Developed by a team from the Chinese University of Hong Kong’s School of Architecture (CUHK) led by architect Kristof Crolla, this artwork is entirely made of bamboo stems, which give the impression of having been woven. This temporary structure of rounded shape intends to demonstrate the architectural possibilities offered by the material. Not only extremely flexible and resistant, the bamboo has the quality of being rather ecological, since its plant is very present in the tropical and temperate zones.
