Oppo Technology & Research Centre Tower l Gianni Botsford Architects + RJWu & Partner
 
					The Chinese mobile phone maker Oppo commissioned London-based firm Gianni Botsford Architects and Taiwan’s RJWu & Partners to create their new 42-story Oppo Technology & Research Centre Tower 2014. The new skyscraper will be the centerpiece of the design overseeing the Singapore Sichuan Hi-Tech Innovation Park, located south of Chengdu. Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, has a metropolitan population of more than 15 million, making it the fifth largest city in China.

Oppo Technology & Research Centre Tower’s Design Concept
The community research headquarters can house up to 5,000 engineers and support workers. It stimulates employees to come together by offering a compelling workplace location, encouraging the mutual enrichment of ideas. Throughout the Oppo Technology & Research Centre Tower, you’ll find spaces dedicated to individual work, unwinding, instruction, exhibition, dining, and taking in the greenery and city beyond. © Shihao Xiao
Coherence and accessibility are introduced to the planning by introducing orientation through integrating a towering structure with the adjacent horizontal lower-rise structures. To foster cooperation, the Oppo Technology & Research Centre Tower’s design includes several openings and a variety of floor heights.
