Splendid Chalet du Bois Flotté in Quebec
Overlooking the St. Lawrence River, this rustic yet modern Quebec chalet is made up of two buildings meeting perpendicularly. With its large windows that allow its occupants to become spectators of nature and its shape recalling the first homes built along the St Lawrence Valley, this residence seems to be a perfect destination for rest, both in winter and summer.
The firm BOOM TOWN designed the Chalet du Bois Flotté in a concern of eco-responsibility. «The backdrop for the project?s design is a desire for harmony with nature. Building within limited means forces one to limit surface area, which reduces one?s ecological as well as physical footprint. It?s an opportunity to build ecologically, to question how to occupy space without taking up space. The compact layout of the construction keeps intact the natural look of the site», we can learn in the press release.
