Urgent call for 3D-printed PPE
Are you an architect, researcher, or firm with access to a 3D printer"
Michael Garron hospital is calling on the 3D printing community to create visor frames for use by the medical community in treating COVID-19 patients. The hospital has issued video instructions and an STL template for the frames it is requesting. They recommend printing the frames in PLA, and consolidating them for delivery or pick-up to the hospital, located in Toronto’s east end. When received, the hospital will sanitize the frames and assemble them with face shields and elastics for use by medical staff.
The hospital is calling for 10,000 frames to be produced.
Its webpage for the effort includes a sign-up sheet, where people with access to 3D printing equipment can be notified of other urgent calls by hospitals for 3D printed PPE.
